ERDOGAN IS IN SUDAN


SUDAN AND TURKEY DRAW UP ROAD MAP FOR THEIR FUTURE RELATIONS

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyib Erdogan, pointed out that Khartoum and Ankara have drawn up the road-map for their future relations and began to look forward for more efforts to strengthen the cooperation between them in all fields.

Addressing the National Legislature Sunday evening, President Erdogan said that the two countries have signed a number of agreements during his current visit to Khartoum, decided to establish the joint strategic cooperation council and established the joint strategic group to discuss international issues.

He said that the two countries also endeavor to sign an additional agreement on cooperation between the Sudanese and Turkish Armed Forces.

President Erdogan affirmed that the two countries are working to establish frim relations between them for the interest of the two countries.

He appreciated the stand of the Sudanese people in support of Turkey against the coup.

He asserted the importance of increasing the volume of trade exchange between Sudan and Turkey from 500 million dollars to 10 billion dollars.

STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN SUDAN AND TURKEY

President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, has announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Sudan and Turkey as well as other agreements on cooperation in different fields.

At a joint press conference by the end of talks with the visiting Turkish President, Al-Bashir has described the relations between Sudan and Turkey as historic and deeply-rooted.

He said that arrival of the big delegation of Turkish ministers and businessmen with President Erdogan affirms the keenness of Turkey to strengthen its relations with Sudan.

President Al-Bashir has expressed the pleasure of the Sudanese people over the visit of President Recep Tayyib Erdogan.

He indicated that the Turkish President will visit the Red Sea on Monday to visit the antiquities of the Ottoman era.

President Al-Bashir has lauded the honorable stances and efforts of President Erdogan in supporting Quds and the Islamic nation, the last of which was his hosting to the Islamic summit in Istanbul, adding that the recent Islamic summit in Istanbul has united the stances and resulted in suspension of the United States to its decision to move its embassy to Quds as well as rejection of the Security Council and the United Nations to the American administration's decision.

Sudan and Turkey Sign a Number of Cooperation Agreements in Different Fields

President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, and the visiting President of Turkey, Recep Tayyib Erdogan, Monday signed at the Republican Palace the program of strategic cooperation between Sudan and Turkey and an agreement on establishment of the high-level strategic cooperation council.

The two sides have signed agreement on the trade and economic partnership and a protocol on the cooperation in the science, technology and industry.

The two countries also signed a memo of understanding for cooperation in the field of mining, and agreements in the fields of agriculture, forests, education, tourism, environment

The Sudanese and Turkish sides have signed a protocol of cooperation between the Sudanese and Turkish Broadcasting and TV Corporations, in addition to a memo of understanding in the field of small and medium-scale works.

The two sides also signed a memo of understanding in the field of policies for immigration and expatriates, besides an agreement in the field of military training.

President Bashir Commends Turkey Stands in Support of Sudanese Questions

President Omar Bashir on Sunday commended the positions taken by Turkey in support of the Sudanese questions, and in particular Turkey's stands and huge efforts in Darfur and for achieving peace and stability there.

The president pointed out that the assistance provided by Turkey in construction of model villages in Darfur and prepositioning of humanitarian assistance, establishing hospitals and securing development assistance have all played a clear role in pushing forwards eh peace process and in achieving stability in the region.

President Bashir pointed out during the joint round of talks held at the Sudanese Republican Palace on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart, Reccep Tayyib Erdogan.

That Sudan is moving forwards in sure steps for achieving the development projects in the area in light of the outcome of the National Dialogue which formed the overall context of the political process and for aching sustainable peace and stability in the region.

The president stressed that the Sudan continues to play a positive role in conflict resolutions in the region for achieving a lasting peace and stability in the region, among and between the various parties, as well as the country's efforts for combating terrorism and illegal trafficking

ERDOGAN'S VISIT IS HISTORIC

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hamid Mumtaz, has described the visit of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyib Erdogan, to Sudan as a historic one and marking a turning point in the relations between the two countries, affirming that Sudan and Turkey are linked to each other with firm historic ties that are based on mutual understanding on various issues.

He said in a press statement to SUNA that the significance of the Turkish President's visit in the current time emanates from the important roles being played by Sudan on outstanding regional issues at the strategic level.

Mumtaz pointed out that Sudan is playing an important role in the region at the economic, political, diplomatic fields.

He said that the relations between the two countries are based on mutual understanding and cooperation in the issues of mutual concern.

He indicated that Sudan and Turkey will play key roles at the region and at different fields, hoping that the visit of the Turkish President will mark the outset for more firm relations and cooperation in all domains.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in the Sudanese capital city of Khartoum, the first stop of his official visits covering Sudan, Chad and Tunisia. President Erdoğan was welcomed by President Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan with an official ceremony at Khartoum International Airport.
After the national anthems of Turkey and Sudan were played, President Erdoğan inspected the guard of honor and the two leaders posed for the press.

Also present at the ceremony, during which Sudanese children presented flowers to President Erdoğan and First Lady Emine Erdoğan, were Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba, Minister of Culture and Tourism Numan Kurtulmuş, Minister of Finance Naci Ağbal, Minister of National Education İsmet Yılmaz, Minister of National Defense Nurettin Canikli and Minister of Transportation, Maritime Affairs and Communications Ahmet Arslan.

Following the ceremony, President Erdoğan and his Sudanese counterpart Al-Bashir proceeded to the Sudanese Presidential Palace, where they held their bilateral meeting and co-chaired the meeting between delegations.
