ERDOGAN IS IN ALGERIA

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has arrived in Algiers to pay an official visit. Upon his arrival at Houari Boumediene Airport, President Erdoğan was welcomed by President of the Council of the Nation of Algeria, Abdelkader Bensalah, with an official ceremony.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdelkader Messahel, Minister of Post, Information Technology and Communication Houda Imene Feraoun of Algeria and Turkey’s Ambassador to Algiers Mehmet Poroy were also present at the ceremony.

As part of his official programme in Algiers, President Erdoğan first paid a visit to the Martyrs’ Memorial where he laid a wreath and prayed for martyrs. President Erdoğan was accompanied by President of the Council of the Nation of Algeria, Abdelkader Bensalah, and the ministers in the Turkish delegation.

Afterwards, President Erdoğan received Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia of Algeria at Sheraton Hotel. Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ahmet Eşref Fakıbaba, Minister of Customs and Trade Bülent Tüfenkci and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak were also present at the meeting.

Following the meeting, documents were signed between Turkey and Algeria by relevant ministers and bureaucrats before President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ouyahia.

After the signing ceremony, President Erdoğan and Prime Minister Ouyahia proceeded to their working dinner.
